The NLPOA Arapahoe County Chapter is committed to promoting equality and diversity in law enforcement, while supporting the community and advocating for fair and just treatment of all individuals.

The National Latino Peace Officers Association (NLPOA) was founded in 1972 in Northern California to combat discriminatory height requirements that limited employment opportunities for Latinos, women, and other minorities in law enforcement.
The organization expanded to Colorado in 2003 with chapters in the Denver Police and Denver Sheriff’s Departments, and in 2024, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office launched the newest chapter. Today, NLPOA has chapters in over 24 U.S. states and one in Canada, and it hosts an annual national conference during Hispanic Heritage Month. Colorado currently has three active chapters: Denver PD, Denver SO, and Arapahoe County.
